Cafe de Bangkok was the first restaurant recommended by my friends after I came to Fort Collins. If you search it in yelp.com, you will be impressed by the high rating, 4.5 out of 5, and the multitude of positive reviews. If you try it once, you will know those reviews are completely true.

Cafe de Bangkok opened in 2011, has been rated as one of the best Thai restaurants in Northern Colorado. Executive Chef Pu is from Thailand’s capitol city Bangkok and has many years experience cooking Thai cuisine. At Cafe de Bangkok, customers can have authentic Thai cuisine served with the freshest ingredients similar to what they would find in Thailand. After Bangkok’s success in Fort Collins, they have opened a new branch in Loveland, Colo.

Food

Food is the soul of a restaurant. Look at those pictures. Don’t you feel hungry? As a restaurant featuring Thai food, Cafe de Bangkok always tries its best to serve authentic Thai cuisine. Dishes here are not only tasty, but also beautifully presented. Chef Pu values health and is why she uses the freshest materials for cooking.

At Cafe de Bangkok, you can get a variety of dishes for a fair price. Check out their menu here. Since I like curry, my favorite dish is Chicken Yellow Curry with rice. It is slow-cooked chicken in yellow curry with coconut milk, onion and potato, topped with crispy garlic and cilantro. The taste of coconut and the aroma of cilantro offer a refreshing feeling, which makes it charming and delightful.

Cafe de Bangkok also accommodates the palettes of its customers well. You can choose the spice level of your order from mild, medium to hot. Also you can choose from chicken, pork and beef to add to most dishes.

Ambiance

Cafe de Bangkok is a small restaurant. It can’t hold a big group, but it’s suitable for having dinner with a few family members and friends. It features simple decoration with light yellow walls, wood tables and chairs. I think they could add more Thai decorations to make the restaurant more distinctive.

Service

Service is also an important part of a restaurant. After customers come into Cafe de Bangkok, they are usually served with a glass of ice cold water at once. People usually get their food within 15 to 20 minutes after ordering. Waiters and chefs can always accommodate to a customer’s preferences. As mentioned above, you can choose spice level and meat. I once went to Bangkok on a freezing winter day. After I sat at the table, a waitress offered me a glass of hot water, which made me feel very warm in my heart.

However, its service quality may decrease a little during busy hours (usually the meal time on weekends). People who rated Cafe de Bangkok as one or two stars usually complains about its service. Since it’s a small restaurant with only two to three waiters or waitresses, some people may feel neglected during busy hours. I think they could have more people wait on tables for peak times. In addition, the small restaurant is full during busy hours and you may have to wait for seats. It offers takeout service, which helps solve the problem a little bit.

In a word, Cafe de Bangkok is a great place for Thai food.
