Top 5 ideas in FoCo when you are poor

Its the time of year when the snow starts melting and spring is on the horizon and you wake up from your Netflix and chill hibernation to find your cuff buddy no longer just wants to just “watch tv” and nap all day. No worries! Here are some date ideas all under $20 (because ordering takeout all winter wasn’t cheap) that are still fun even if you are just “hanging out”.

1. Coffee date at Momo Lolo Cafe

The best thing to do when you are first waking up out of your winter Netflix and chill hibernation- go get coffee. To avoid being basic and boring, forget Starbucks and go to the Momo Lolo Cafe! This place has a chill laid back atmosphere, reminiscent of Central Park Cafe in Friends, so if that's all you guys binge watched over break, this will be perfect! It will also give you something to talk about if you’re not use to...ya know actually talking.

2. All That and a Bag of Chips

Instead of sitting at home trying to get your partner into video games, take them out and do it- with a bag of chips. All that and a Bag of Chips is a gaming den, basically a big room with tons of different game consoles and every game imaginable. Its open from 3 pm -2 am its only $5 for guys and girls get in for free!

3. Cinemark’s $5 Movie Tuesdays

Still haven’t actually made it through an entire movie together? No problem, a movie theater full of other people will help that…hopefully. Plus the Cinemark Fort Collins 16 has a much better selection than Netflix, check out showtimes here!

4. Pinball Jones

If you’re looking for more classic date idea hit up Pinball Jones, an underground arcade with games ranging from 25 cents- $1.25. They also have a bar with local beers ranging from $1-$3, so grab a beer then you and your special friend and make bets about who can get the most tickets! Winner can buy the next round…

5. Catch a show at The Aggie

Good music + small usually crowded venue + seeing your partner not in sweats = instant attraction and opportunities to dance all close and personal. The Aggie is the most popular music venue in town, and usually has a couple of shows each week! If you don’t want the more crowded experienced, call and see what shows aren’t sold out and go in for a more chill romantic set (that is probably cheaper too), even if its music that is new to both of you!
