Make Dating Great Again

Love the standard? Then, stop reading. Hate the mundane of fluorescent lighting? Good, this is for you!

In order to make a date great, it has to be unique. Dare to imagine. Create an unparalleled and unforgettable experience.

Take the typical coffee date. It is safe. It is economical. It is the customary first date. In the article, “Coffee Date Tips for an Important First Date” by Carmelia, Ray it recommends asking “What do you see yourself doing in the next five years?” How enthralling. I cannot wait to hear about you paying off your student debt, where you want to be in your career, and the two cats that you will have Instagram accounts for . . .

Let us not slowly bore ourselves to sleep on a date. Instead, transform the everyday coffee date into a 1 a.m. adventure at the Alleycat Cafe. Watch the nightlife crawl in. Enjoy the rising steam fresh off the tea. Take in the mellow bustle of the night, and sit down for a conversation that thrills the psyche.

Imagine.

Imagine how much more unique of an experience this transformation of the standard coffee date is than the real thing. There is no waiting in line with busy men and women. No ring of cellphones. No whine of children waiting for their mom or dad. No harsh sun rays making you squint, just a relaxing cup of tea in a dimly lit atmosphere of mystery, where shadows dart to hide. It is the Gryffindor common room compared to Dursley’s muggle home.

Think.

Think about the potential of the two dates. Consider the adventure that could come from the night. Speculate of the places to go, the things to see, and do. You leave the warmness of the Alleycat for the cool night air. Old Town is still awake, but its hum is subtle. The crowds are gone. Only a few roam the deserted store fronts. You and your date enter the alleyway. The surroundings are intimate. It is the witching hour. Excitement surrounds the encompassing dark veil of the night sky. Anything can happen, maybe even a kiss!

Contemplate.

Contemplate the struggle of the everyday conversation at the coffee chain. How was your day? What do you study? What are you going to do with your life? Questions of this sort disappear into fluid conversation that is intimate and piercing into the soul when experiencing the deviant. Got weirdly deep there, but that is the entire point! Let it flow so you can be your weird self. It is the night, let the super freak come out! Connect over the experience.

Live.

It is as simple as that. Experience the new, not the everyday. This goes for everything, not just for dates. Take the risk. Get the biscuit. Enjoy life. At days closing have stories to trumpet upon a crowd of friends. Live.

Remember.

Strive to be unique. Understand the importance of the atypical, and please bring to an end the standard coffee date.
