Something locals and tourists alike enjoy: micro-brews. There is no shortage of choices for a person to sit down and enjoy a glass of frothy delight in Fort Collins, the micro-brew capitol of the world. However, people are too often compelled to try what is the most popular or successful. New Belgium is without a doubt the most successful microbrewery in Fort Collins, but here are five other breweries that will not disappoint even the biggest beer snob.

Odell Brewing Company

With a blissful atmosphere and spacious patio, frequent live music and, most importantly, delicious beer, what’s not to like about Odell. They showcase food trucks that pair well with any of their rotating menu of beers. This rotating menu of experimental and seasonal beers makes it exciting to come back. As always, the beers taste best from the tap!

Funkwerks

While you sit in the backyard of funkwerks it feels like the backyard of a friend’s house. Walk inside and you could be in their living room. The small atmosphere acts as a catalyst to feeling like a local and epitomizes what it means to be a microbrewery. The live band often stays around after for a beer which contributes to such a local and friendly atmosphere. Their selection rotates through mostly different sours and saisons that are beyond the ordinary.

Coopersmith’s Pub and Brewing

Coopersmith’s has an impeccable location at the heart of Old Town. Beyond their signature ale’s, they have a spacious hall with many tables to play a game of billiards late night with your friends. A local favorite since 1989 with 147 beers, everyone is bound to find something they like!

Mainline Ale House

Mainline is located on College in downtown Fort Collins, but what really makes them special is the upstairs patio. The location is often accompanied with live music and fit with a great view of the local night life. They are also set apart by their gourmet take on bar food. The Ahi Tuna Tartare and buffalo cauliflower are not your traditional bar food.

Black Bottle Brewery

Black Bottle Brewing is tucked away in a strip mall in off of Prospect and College in Fort Collins. You may have driven right passed it, but it is worth a stop by. They have 40 of their own beers on tap, but they are set apart by their extensive selection of other beers, wine and a full bar. Their wide selection will satisfy even the pickiest of friends. Make sure to stop by for half off of growlers on Wednesdays and Sundays.
