Photo Story: A meal at Fort Collins Rescue Mission

Last week I had the opportunity to attend a dinner service at the Fort Collins Rescue Mission. Currently our city is debating the controversial issues surrounding the Fort Collins homeless community. From the potential “sit-lie ban” city ordinance to the prospect of selling off the Rescue Mission’s land, many people either want to protect the Rescue Mission or push for new restaurants and hotels in the area. I want to depict the selfless nature of the daily kitchen volunteers and committed staff at the Mission. Attending the dinner service was a wonderful reminder of what a warm meal and a few smiles can do to one’s demeanor and outlook. Scroll below for the full photo story!

If you want to sign up to volunteer cook it’s never too late! The Fort Collins Rescue Mission appreciates any and all volunteers.
