Old Town Fort Collins is home to many eclectic restaurants, stores, and old “timey” shops. Bustling during the weekend with college students looking to shop and eat, but especially shop. There are many options to shop on a budget in Old Town. Below is a ranking of five stores in Old Town where college students or anyone interested can get clothing and accessories for under $20.

1. Brand Spanking Used Thrift Store

Brand Spanking Used is ranked number one, because it has the best options to get more than one item of clothing for $20 or less. The name may scare some, but others find Brand Spanking Used a place to call their shopping home. With not one, but two floors filled with clothing, shoes, fashion accessories, and furniture, this store offers anything one might look for at a reasonable price. It is a shopaholics dream, well a shopaholic on a budget anyway. For $20 or less shoppers can get an outfit with accessories or one small item of furniture. Some may be opposed to shopping here because it is a thrift shop, but the only one’s they are hurting are themselves by not checking out this great place.

2. Ragstock

Ragstock is ranked second, due to the fact that it is on the pricier side for some of its clothing. On the other hand it offers many different styles of clothing that is offered at a reasonable price. Ragstock offers not just everyday styles of clothing and accessories but also festive holiday attire. Shoppers can find ugly and funny holiday sweaters during the winter season and costumes during Halloween offered at a lower price than other stores around. Shoppers on a budget can get anywhere between two different items or even three items if they find a steal of a price. There is also always a “SALE” sign on the door, enticing shoppers to come in and buy something at a lower price.

3. My Best Friend’s Closet

My Best Friend’s Closet comes in at number three only because of its location, the West part of Fort Collins. My Best Friend’s Closet allows shoppers not only to shop at a reasonable price, but allows them to sell their clothes and earn some money. Shoppers can find one or two items for under $20, but those items are sometimes a popular brand. I have seen a Coach purse, regularly priced at $70. My Best Friend’s Closet is similar to a thrift shop, because everything has either been donated or sold and then re-sold to customers at a lower price. The name should say it all, because you could probably find something your best friend once owned if you go inside and take a look around.

4. Ram Zone

Coming in fourth is Ram Zone, ranked lower because it only sells Colorado State University themed items and nothing else. Lets just be happy there is nothing Buff related to find. Ram Zone is a CSU fans dream store. Shoppers can get their Ram attire, accessories, and “knick knacks” at a reasonable price that will not break the bank. For under $20 a shopper can get two items, but it is usually limited to an item of clothing and a small accessory. The downside is that some of the clothing is still pricier going above the $20 shopping limit, but those items are usually Jackets and Jerseys.

5. Kansas City Kitty

Coming in at number five is Kansas City Kitty, ranked last because it is on the pricier side of stores to shop at. Once inside there is no going back for shoppers though. For $20 a shopper can only buy one item of clothing but can get more than one accessory. Even though it is on the pricier side shoppers are never disappointed with their trip. One of the best things about Kansas City Kitty though, is most of the jewelry sold inside is made from local Fort Collins artists. Who does not want to support their local community member? Yeah I do too, which is why Kansas City Kitty always has shoppers inside.
