Fort Collins has a bunch of great places to buy vinyl records, and whether you’re a veteran collector or a new face to the scene it never hurts to know where to look.

  1. The Bizarre Bazaar is a great place to start if you want to dive head first into the world of secondhand record shops. Though the name might seem somewhat obscure, as soon as you enter you’ll understand it couldn’t be more appropriate. The Bazaar is chock full of rare vintage records and other oddities. If you’re looking for something hard to find, this should be your first stop.
  2. The old adage one man’s trash is another man’s treasure rings true in the world of vinyl, and a great place to find those treasures is at local garage sales. Often times people have totally forgotten about their records and don’t know their value, so they’re just looking to unload them. Lucky for you with a little patience, and a keen eye you can find some real dusty treasures just begging to be played again.
  3. If you’re looking for a something a little less dusty, but still want that vintage feel Little Horse Vintage in Old Town Fort Collins is a great place to check out. You’ll feel like you walked into a time warp when you enter the shop and the records couldn’t be more era appropriate. From ABBA to ZZ Top and everything in between Little Horse is sure to have something great.
  4. Another truly great place to look for records is the local Fort Collins Craigslist page. The advantage of Craigslist over a garage sales is that often times people are selling entire collection and more. More often than not someone is trying to get rid of their turntable and old receiver as well as a mountain of records, and usually for not that much. Though it may take more diligent approach, if you consistently check the page, you’re guaranteed to find something great.

5. With vinyl on the rise again as a medium, many of today’s top albums are being pressed into records for the first time in decades. So if you’re looking for something new check out All Sales Vinyl. While they do have used records as well, All Sales Vinyl really stands out for its selection of modern albums. The shop also sells great entry level turntables, amps and headphones. If you’re in Old Town, it’s worth a stop.

Bonus! Download the Discogs app. It is in my opinion the end all be all app for anyone who buys records. If you want to know how much a record should cost or what year it was presses, Discogs will have the answer.
