Badum Ba Ba Baaamm, I’m Lovin It, and so are you. If not, you will be after you read this article. Probably.

Just thought y’all should know right off the bat that Wendy’s hasn’t used their “Wendy’s has the taste,” jingle since the 80’s. Taco Bell isn’t any better since they haven’t used their “Tacos, Tacos Tacos,” Jingle since the 90’s. Already, McDonald’s has a leg up in the jingle department since the “Badum Ba Ba Baaamm, I’m Lovin It,” jingle is still running and is as catchy as ever.

But who cares about a damn jingle anyway? Don’t worry, I have more legitimate resons for why McDonald’s is the BEST drive-thru to go to.

Factually speaking, there are three drive-thru restaurants on Elizabeth Street in Fort Collins, Colorado. There’s McDonald’s, Wendy’s and Taco Bell. I know what you’re thinking. Why didn’t I mention Sonic? It’s because Sonic is irrelevant so get over it. It is categorized as a “drive-in” not a “drive-thru,” oh well. Moving on, now that we have that distinction out in the open, lets get back to the topic of discussion.

McDonald’s is the best drive-thru place to eat on Elizabeth Street. There are no if, buts or maybes about it. It’s all about the three C’s people. College students love McDonald’s because it’s the closest, the cheapest and the most convenient.

Rather if you’re heading north or south on Shields, when you make that turn onto Elizabeth Street, McDonald’s is the first drive-thru restaurant you’ll see. Why drive to Taco Bell or Wendy’s when McDonald’s is right there? Lets not forget it’s on the right hand side so it’s super easy to turn into. On the other hand, Taco Bell and Wendy’s are both on the left hand side which means you have to wait for on coming traffic to pass before you can turn in.

The dollar menu, the McPick 2 deal and most importantly, the McDonald’s app, are essential key players to the drive-thru’s cheap prices. McDonald’s has the cheapest menu out of all the other drive-thru’s on Elizabeth Street. The dollar menu, I mean do I really need to explain the advantage here, it’s in the title? The McPick 2 deal, also the name is in the title but for those of you college students who still don’t get that deal, it’s two things for $2.00. Wow. Lastly, the app is the best thing that has ever happened to all of us. It is literally an app filled with coupons, bogos and even free food. With the app, every Sunday during football season, if the Denver Broncos played, each customer could receive either a free breakfast sandwich or a free big mac. “I’m Lovin [That]!”

Convenience is the key to success. I’m not talking about location and I’m not talking about prices. I’m talking about the big C. Why is McDonald’s more convenient then Wendy’s and Taco Bell? Wendy’s has a 4 for $4 and delicious frosty’s. Taco Bell has Doritos taco shells and a $5.00 crunch box. But you know what these two places don’t have? They don’t have all day breakfast and they are not open 24 hours. McDonald’s has more food items to choose from and they literally never close. It’s 1am, you just got done studying for a test or you are just getting done with a fun night out on the town. Wendy’s is closed, Taco Bell is closed and you are in the mood for breakfast. There’s only one place on Elizabeth Street that can cater to your needs and that place is McDonald’s.

Lastly, I would like to acknowledge all the McDonald’s haters out there. Maybe you just love the taste of Taco Bell or Wendy’s more and that’s fine. However, everyone needs to stop with the whole McDonalds is so bad and unhealthy for you argument because honey let me tell you, it’s not as bad as you think and these other places aren’t much better. McDonald’s compared to “healthy restaurants” is really #notthatbad.
