Episode 068: Early Twists Of Summer 2019

Brian R Brinkman
Beyond The Pond

--

In Episode 068 we assess the first week of Phish’s Summer 2019 Tour. Covering the St. Louis & Bonnaroo shows, we break the run down into a number of categories, offering our overall thoughts on the tour so far.

And the early reports from the young tour are good! The band sounds tight, they’re jamming with a focus on blissed out landscapes, rather than overt rock peaks, and are quickly fitting in the songs from Kasvot Vaxt & Ghosts Of The Forest into the tour. We’re excited to see where the tour goes from here as the band settles into more multi-night runs and some familiar venues.

Songs featured in this episode are:

Joshua Abrams & Natural Information Society: “Finite”

L’Eclair: “Endless Dave”

Link Wray: “Take Me Home Jesus”

King Crimson: “Thela Hun Ginjeet”
