Women’s Basketball Is Better Than Men’s and It’s Not Even Close

Basketball purists should be watching NCAA women’s basketball

There is more team basketball in women’s and that’s why it is better.

I have been a basketball junkie for decades. I love the game within the game — the different strategies based on a team’s size, speed, defensive tenacity, or how it matches up with an opponent.

Basketball is the perfect blend of a team sport where an individual can make a massive impact on the game. In the end though, it’s always the team over any individual. At least, that’s the way it should be.

Which is just one reason I prefer to watch women’s basketball over men’s.

There are far more examples of solid, if not great, women’s teams who also have a star player to help lead them deep into March Madness. Stanford, Iowa, South Carolina, LSU, and Virginia Tech are a few examples.

Granted, the same can be said for men’s teams. The difference, at least for me, is the overall quality of that play.

Women’s teams have better flow offensively, more selfless play, more players taking a charge, stronger team defense, and more dynamic coaches.

Many basketball fans can name at least a few of today’s top female stars like Caitlin Clark, Paige Bueckers, Angel Reese, Hailey Van Lith, Cameron Brink…
