This has not happened for over 20 years.

The WTA (Women’s Tennis Association) world’s №1 and №2 , Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka, meet twice in two weeks to play a final.

The last time the top two WTA players met in such a short period was 2000.

Martina Hingis and Lindsay Davenport were in the Indian Wells and Miami finals.

With today’s final in beautiful Rome, Swiatek and Sabalenka are hitting more world-class records.

It is the fourth head to head on clay as the world’s №1 and №2 for both — the most meetings for top two WTA players on that surface in the past 40 years, equaling legends Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova.

Is anything better than a full-fledged rivalry to catapult WTA into the next era of superlatives?

I’m in love with the legendary pressure in the air of women’s tennis!
