We’re extra proud to announce that our work on Flavors Hook Kids was honored at this year’s San Francisco Design Week Awards. The site we designed and built was selected as a winner in the category of Civic Design for its “…ground-breaking design and commitment to thought leadership in meeting the needs of a positive future for society.”

Flavors Hook Kids was our strategic response to California Tobacco Control Program’s ask: build a digital presence (alongside their ad campaign) to inform, inspire, and activate concerned parents, and others, about the tobacco industry’s deceptive marketing targeted at kids. We built an easy-to-digest site that rang an alarm and armed parents with the information they needed to understand the dangers their kids face. We also provided clear paths to activism, resulting in over 6K letters of concern being sent to government officials, 1K requests to join a local coalition, and over 17K guide downloads to help parents identify e-cigarette use with their kids.

San Francisco Design Week Awards is an international design competition that celebrates and recognizes exemplary work in all fields of design, including architecture, interior design, industrial design, communication design, and user experience design. The theme this year was “Where Innovation Meets Social Responsibility.”
