‘Winters sun & daytime moon’

short winter poem & nature views from Scandinavia

Standing here,
in this place
this thing, the one
where
we live

a howl
slow but strong
permutates
so wild,

yielded
from
seeds within
the arctic wind

like claws and thorn
spine and barb
it peers right through
your clothes and fell
your soul and home
by ice stripped bare
the void unfurnished

erst
your
summer
soil
like clothes
that lay

left behind
and
far away
a dream
unborn
but not forgotten

Dressed in dark
the icy storm
we love it still
our frozen world
without a pause

Bedroom dark
the stars and moon

for these
things

they whisper
still
and end-lessly
from every fiber
of nature’s call

from
and to, this places room

we had
wandered,
not in silent
calm
and
taci
-turn-ity
but as knights
of whale roads born
past the giants’
tomb and hill
we left behind
summers warmth

Towards
the edge
of time
we journeyed
with daylights moon
and winters sun

we climbed and hiked
ventured forth, untold regions
fields
and treeless waters

And now
we lay

upon this place
the one, we call our home
our wild
and here
we dance
with bears and wolves

Stretched out born
Of

Stillborn dark
the stars now speak
through owls and soil
shattered leaves
beneath this night our winters sun
Like lovers free
they
now court

night and day
and shadows play
the soil of old
where birch trees wander

amidst our
one
the daylight hour

And
quite soon
we once more climb
a range
of ice
we hold and see
the frosty heart of dark grey mountains,
cold
our world
dressed with ice and birch tree barren
we quench its thirst
shoulders deep and waist-deep cleavage

Until
we touch
their naked limbs

skin
and deep
we
caress
,and conjures forth

what you call
springtimes touch

Slow it drags
our blood and soul
back
into
Sunshines might

and
while it warms
eyes and fingers

we will need
and envisage

evermore

of winters dark
and falling snow
