The Internet is becoming an increasingly important element of today’s society. This is particularly true for children and teens, who use it for education, online gaming, and social networking. The new generation of kids is far more informed and eager to adopt new technology than previous generations. They have no problem keeping up with the constant influx of new technology, new internet sites, and new forms of media. However,

When it comes to online lectures and their children’s studies, it’s something most parents are still struggling to adapt to.

Because virtual classrooms are not as simple as sending kids to schools and be done with it, it has become an additional responsibility (burden) for parents — given their own work, work from home, domestic responsibilities and so much more.

Introducing Tappity

That’s where Tappity comes in! With Tappity’s online learning platform, online learning feels like watching The Jungle Book! No matter how distracted you are, your child will always gain something out of it!

Tappity is a space created for all the kids aged 4 – 10. It is an e-learning platform where the kids can explore concepts presented in a unique and interesting way. It’s all about encouraging your child’s curiosity and feeling of wonder by presenting a wide range of topics in an exciting-to-consume manner!

Tappity knows various ages have varied levels of comprehension.

The pros

The platform offers the option to pick your child’s age at the very start. If your child is five, you will be offered a different set of personalized content when compared to a child who’s 10 years old. They (the kids or the parents) can also filter the content by selecting the type of lectures they want to learn — activities and experiments, science trivia, drawing activity, or science mission. It all depends on the mood of the children and what they feel most connected to.

The platform provides students a well-structured curriculum in which they can choose amongst all the experts available on the platform.

Tappity even has a Live classes option — a series of mini-classes 4 times a week centered on a weekly science theme that the kids would be most interested in! Instead of being forced to do something they’re not interested in, the kids can enjoy learning based on what excites them!

The platform is accessible through the web as well as a dedicated app for mobile users.

Additionally, the application can be used offline, which is very suitable for Indian towns and cities where high-bandwidth internet is still a dream. There is nothing more frustrating than an app that gets stuck buffering! Kids lose their focus even before getting started.

Downsides

However, to access all this information you need to have a Tappity membership. They offer three different plans and a free trial of two weeks. Even though it is a paid service, the platform still has a lot of problems. To begin with, the user interface is riddled with flaws. Every time we open the platform in a new tab, we must log in. In some places when we select certain options, a lot of the content overlaps.

However, the services of Tappity application is only limited for iOS devices.

On top of that, it requires a lot of storage space (1.8 GB). The software also has app scaling issues on all notched smartphones.

I also believe that some of the topics they provide for a child to select from are irrelevant for their age group. Most children may find it really difficult to relate to most of the topics listed for their age groups.

Conclusion

Interactive storytelling is one of my favorite teaching methods, and Tappity has done an excellent job of embracing it. But no matter how great the content is, the creators must expend a great deal of effort to make the experience relevant and useful for their targetted age group.
