As we celebrate National Inclusion Week 2020, BGL Tech’s Emma Partridge highlights how diversity in the workplace benefits us all:

There are many proven positive benefits to having a diverse workforce, both for individual employees and for their employers and even for their customers. The proliferation of ideas and creative flow tends to be higher in diverse groups; bringing together a group of people with a wide variety of life experiences really helps to foster new and innovative ideas, acting as a melting pot that enhances creative thinking, design and production.

As a result of this, employees feel more stimulated at work, get more value from their work and thus employee engagement tends to be higher and employee attrition and turnover rates are lower.

The products and services created by such multicultural teams utilise improved cultural insights which work better for diverse customer bases, leading to higher customer satisfaction and NPS scores, better company reputation and increased profits.

At BGL, we benefit greatly from our diverse teams in all these ways and are always actively striving to build and maintain the diversity that we have. We know that diverse teams help us deliver new and innovative products that speak our values. Our team is diverse, and we can learn from everyone’s difference, but at our core we share key values that bring us all together and keep us on the path to bigger and better things.
