Do you have a project, business, or want to build a startup?

Do you like to be confused if you want to create a new product/service, where should you start so you don’t get “zonk”?

Try using the “design sprint” method created by Google Venture.

This method consists of 5 short phases that are used to accelerate “decision-making” and reduce “risk” in various strategic projects including product development.

Those who need to be present during the design sprint process are usually :
- Decider → eg CEO
- Facilitator → as a timekeeper, progress tracker, and maintain the final decision so as not to be biased.
- A team consisting of marketers, designers, tech people, financial experts, etc

1. Understand the problem

The first stage is the stage of understanding the problem in the field:

Who are the potential users of our product, what do they need, who are the competitors, the focus area we want to solve, and how to turn the problem into an opportunity.

2. Diverge (Ideate the solutions)

This is the “ideation” stage to find various solutions to the problems found in the first stage.

The team must provide as many ideas or ideas as possible and describe them on a piece of paper.

Steps describing the idea are usually:

  • Notes → 20 minutes to write inspirational and opportunity notes
  • Ideas → 20 minutes to draw ideas
  • Crazy 8s → 8 minutes to write 8 variations of selected ideas
  • Solution sketch — 30 minutes to draw a comprehensive solution

3. Make a decision

all team members gather and confer to decide on the best design

There are several steps to find the best solution:

  • Art museum
    - Heatmap
    - Speed critique
    - Dot vote (team voting)
    - Supervote (voting decision maker)

4. Create a prototype

At this stage, the team must work extra and carefully in order to produce a decent prototype and can immediately enter the next stage

5. Validation

At this stage, we can test prototypes directly with potential users to validate our ideas. Your prototype has been validated and well received by our prospective customers, we can mass-produce it.

Good luck guys!
