Being a victim makes for a hard life. It takes so much energy to feel like you’ve been done wrong and then live a life of getting others to sympathizing with you. It must feel good otherwise no one would do it. But feeling like a victim is one of the biggest tools that our enemy likes to use. Why? Because it keeps us trapped and stuck and in a place where we are happy to be trapped and stuck. It feeds something in us. But it can keep you stuck for days, weeks, months, years…or our entire lifetime unless we see it and break the pattern. Want to grow in life? You must kick victim mentality to the curb.

What is a victim mentality? It is where you blame everyone else for what happens in your world. Or put another way — when something bad happens to you, you don’t take responsibility for your actions and your response. But don’t bad things happen to us? yup. And don’t we experience wrong and injustice in this world? yup. And isn’t that not fair at all?! yup and more yup. All these things are true, but being a victim of your circumstances is made or broken in how you respond to the wrong and injustices of this life. Let’s see two opposite examples in the scripture.
