People of israel taught about cleansing ritual after touching a dead man’s property.

Burn a perfect cow, and add other ingredients until creation of ash. Once someone becomes impure, they would be cleansed using this ash and 7 days of isolation. Otherwise they will be dead too…

Miriam death

Immediately after this teaching , Miriam dies. The people complain (again) for being at this situation without a nearby water source (since as commanded, they must shower and use water in the cleansing procedures).

God tells moses to talk to a rock and it will give you water. Moses goes to the rock and hits it twice with the staff. Water did come out of it. But , god said that this sin (or disbelief) is the reason why moses and aharon will not see the land of Israel.

The entire generation that exited egypt will not have the opportunity to see the land itself.

Aharon death

God asks moses to take sharon and eliezer, the replacement, to the mountain. They take the clothes of aharon, and put on eliezer. Aharon dies there. The two come back from the mountain alone. Aharon starts on the mountain. Atheist would think that moses and eliezer could kill aharon.

Snakes

The people complain again about something. This time, God sends a swarm of deadly snakes to bite the Israelites. The israelites finally understand they did something wrong and come to apologize to moses, asking him to pray for help.

God tells him to carve a copper snake face, and who ever gets bitten should stare at the face. This happens again, and the people survive.

This is surprising since we are not allowed to make any statue or believe that a statue can help etc…

Battles of a place

The israelites then leave the place.

They arrive to borders of the Emorites. They ask them to pass in the land without drinking and eating from it. But the king obviously does not allow it. But since they do it anyway, he goes to war. He loses. Big time. They take control over his capital, Heshbon. They conquer all land until Amon (today’s jordan). It is said that amon was a powerful land.

Then they arrive to Bashan. They offer the king to pass in the land without eating and drinking from it. He disagrees, and goes to war. He loses as well. This time, Israelites slaughter all these people and desolate their country.

The Israelites are on a run. And their stories go ahead of them. The Moav people are coming next.
