Longest Night Community Advent Service, Christmas Mass, $1500 Matching Gift For BICC Technology, Advent resources, outreach updates, upcoming Mass schedule, and recent homilies.

Longest Night Community Advent Service

12/21/2021 at 7pm EST, in person at Calvary United Methodist Church
(575 W Northfield Dr, Brownsburg, IN 46112); Livestream via Calvary’s website. To join online, follow this link and click where it says “worship livestream / click here for worship.” Instrumental music starts at 6:45.

Please join us for this special Advent service for all of us experiencing grief. We invite you to bring your broken hearts, worries, losses, love for one another, and lamentations into this space of sacred prayer. In community with our neighbors, we will kindle the lights of Advent and wait in hope for the coming light of Emmanuel, God with Us. Learn more here.

For those joining remotely, you may wish to bring a votive candle or your own advent wreath to light along with those gathered in person. Stephen Ministers will be available for 1:1 companionship at the service. If you would like to receive a pastoral call from Nancy (meyern656@gmail.com) or Angela (amnevitt@gmail.com), please reach out to us.

This advent service is offered on Winter Solstice as a collaboration between BICC, Calvary UMC, Good Samaritan Episcopal Church, and Messiah Lutheran Church of Brownsburg, IN.

Christmas Eve Mass

4p EST via Zoom. Co-presided by Rev. Helen Weber-McReynolds (SMMCC) & Rev. Angela Meyer (BICC). Join us in celebrating the birth of Jesus, Emmanuel, God-with-Us!

Arrive as early as 3:30 to share holiday greetings with one another before Mass. Consider bringing added cheer to one another by joining in a way that we can all see a holiday scene behind or around you in your Zoom screen — a nativity, Christmas tree, sparkly lights, a fireplace.

If you would like to be a reader for this special Mass, please contact Angela (amnevitt@gmail.com).

‘Tis the Season to help BICC improve our liturgies with a matching gift!

An anonymous donor has generously offered to match up to $1500 toward a technology fund for BICC! (Thank you!!!) Our finance team has worked with a technology consultant to assess our needs and decide upon equipment best suited for us. We are ready to move forward as soon as funds are available to purchase equipment that will make Zooming easier for all! If you would like to help us achieve this important goal, please send donations addressed to BICC, PO Box 551, Brownsburg, IN 46112.

When writing checks, please put “technology gift” or “general fund” in the memo line to help us designate your gift to the right place. General fund gifts are also very important as they help us cover the cost of rent, materials, and stipends to support the work of our pastors. We hope to offer online giving options in early 2022!

BICC Outreach

Thanks to all who participated in our community conversation on 11/14/21! We have already responded to some of your insights and suggestions. Some community members have jumped in and are helping to organize local giving opportunities (food pantry) and a BICC social activity for 2022. More to come! For now, please know of our gratitude. When we come together in prayer and mutual concern, beautiful things happen. This is how we grow. ❤

Next newsletter will come in 2022!
