The author built this Trek 720 touring bike in 1982 while stationed with the US Air Force at Moody Air Force Base in Georgia. He rode it on his first bicycle tour of Minnesota in 1996. In 2014, he retrofitted the bike with new components, shown here, and rode it on a tour of Western Europe in 2014. Sadly, its frame broke on that tour.
