BIFROST Incentivized Testnet Recap
The BIFROST Incentivized Testnet is over! We’re here to share some highlights of the program.
The BIFROST Incentivized Testnet (BIT) ran for four weeks (October 17, 2022 — November 11, 2022) during which participants were asked to complete tasks designed to battle-test the network. BIT facilitated transactions across four networks: Ethereum Goerli, BNB Testnet, Polygon Mumbai, and Klaytn Testnet.
We would like to thank all the participants and the awesome BIFROST community that made everything possible!
Highlights
- More than 10,000 testnet applications
- 143 out of 161 participants set up validators
- 74.52% task completion rate
- Average block time — 3 seconds
- > 1,000,000 blocks
- > 1,000,000 transactions
Results
Excluding one incident during the first week (you can read about the details in this article), BIT performed as expected. The network was able to securely relay thousands of cross-chain transactions, handle a simultaneous shutdown of multiple nodes, and undergo upgrade through on-chain governance, among other things.

BIFROST Community
The BIT demonstrated how strong the BIFROST community is. During the four weeks, participants from 37 different countries helped one another to complete technical tasks and moderated regional groups. While we had the BIFROST support team working around the clock to address various concerns, members of our amazing community also contributed greatly to the success of the BIT.
We’ve seen overwhelming support on Twitter, active discussions on the BIFROST Governance Forum, and many relevant articles published on platforms such as Medium and Mirror.
What’s next
As the BIFROST Network mainnet is going through audits, we will be focusing on bootstrapping the ecosystem and building the infrastructure for developers. In the meantime, stay tuned for more activities for the community which we will be sharing in the coming weeks.
