Bifrost Now Supporting Base
Update: The Bifrost Network will officially support the Base mainnet as of 30th August. This means that the Bifrost Network CCCP(cross-chain communication protocol) will support Base, and with this update, Base.ETH and Base.DAI assets will first be supported. In addition, the Bifrost bridge as well as our cross-chain lending platform BiFi will accordingly support these assets. However, remember that this is more than a mere extension of the list of supported networks on Bifrost.
An observed trend in the Web3 space is that previously established projects such as Coinbase and ConsenSys have been introducing their own blockchains (Base and Linea respectively) to reinforce their standing in the market. As a multichain platform, Bifrost is prepared to join in this new wave of blockchain either by collaborating with various projects or pioneering our own path.
It is important to note that the Bifrost Network infrastructure and services inevitably grow and expand as we support more networks and connect associated assets and services. For instance, the Bifrost bridge does not only connect different assets but also generates complementary utility by connecting with all DApps on the Bifrost Network, including our cross-chain lending protocol BiFi.
Furthermore, the more networks are supported, the more attractive and effective services utilizing the Bifrost Network become — and this is not limited to our products like the simple and powerful Web3 wallet Pockie. All in all, it is a movement toward a more user-friendly Web3, an organic integration and expansion of our ecosystem that we have been building with the start of our rebranding.
An indisputable characteristic of Web3 is that the integration of various services leads to a multitude of combinations beyond our imagination that in turn create countless possibilities.
