Introducing Bifrost Account
What makes Web3 so difficult? Contrary to the world of Web2 in which we have already immersed ourselves, the barrier to entry is high and accessibility is low. At the same time, the Web3 space continues to evolve fast in a dynamic way — naturally, for outsiders, it can only seem like a huge mystery. However, as we believe Web3 offers many possibilities, we want to bring more people into this space. Our mission is to come up with useful infrastructure and services that would tackle the issue of accessibility and help the process of onboarding so that more people can utilize and enjoy Web3 — no matter how technologically advanced, services reserved for a niche group can never be considered successful.
Let’s take a look at The Last Pie as an example. Despite suggesting a new way to utilize Web3, it has been limited due to the issue of accessibility. The service itself is pretty straightforward but installing a wallet extension, creating an address, and moving tokens from exchanges or bridging them to pay for the gas fees is way too complex for those unfamiliar with Web3, and many are likely to give up in the process. It is through Bifrost Account(BA), a new infrastructure aimed at resolving this particular issue of accessibility that we hope to provide an enjoyable Web3 experience for all.
Bifrost Account Explained
Account abstraction(AA) is a trending method of simplifying and improving accessibility in the Web3 space, and Bifrost Account is the result of combining AA technology with a web wallet to allow direct connection to DApps. (Keep in mind that BA itself uses more than AA and consists of several technologies which we will be introducing in the near future.) With Bifrost’s very own AA technology, we have eliminated the steps of installing wallets, creating a wallet address and separately acquiring assets. In addition, customized settings have been enabled by implementing a DApp-specific paymaster. For instance, when accessing The Last Pie under the guest mode, gasless transactions up to 3 times have been enabled. As a result, we have successfully created a Web2-like user experience that is blockchain agnostic. Moreover, BA can be applied and utilized according to the characteristics and needs of every service.
Any DApp on the Bifrost Network using the BA infrastructure can benefit from significantly enhanced accessibility. Considering that this application is only the first step of BA, further updates will only take us closer to bringing more seamless experiences to users.
