Big Data Protocol Alliance Adds Another Data Provider, Collaborative Stock Trading App, ClosingBell
New York-based ClosingBell joins the Big Data Protocol’s (BDP) Data Marketplace and Data Provider Alliance to showcase and distribute its data products to the 10,000+ investment professionals within the Alliance’s network.
ClosingBell is a stock recommendation platform that provides unique insights and actionable trading ideas by ranking thousands of independent, unbiased analysts with proven track records. ClosingBell was founded in 2014, has over 45,000 users on its platform, and has seen an explosion of interest since the recent rise of WallStreetBets and traders of meme stocks.
ClosingBell has added one of its most valuable datasets: a dataset of crowdsourced stock ratings, with price targets and buy/sell ratings from thousands of contributors over the past 6 years.
This dataset contains tens of thousands of stock ratings covering about 3,000 US stocks from April 2014 until the present with price targets and buy/sell ratings from thousands of ClosingBell contributors. The dataset will be updated on an ongoing basis.
This dataset contains, for each rating, the stock’s ticker (e.g. PLTR, TSLA, AAPL), the user ID that rated the stock, the rating (e.g. Strong Buy, Buy, Hold, Sell, Strong Sell), the past performance of the user’s picks, and information from the community (e.g. whether other users liked or disliked the rating).
This dataset enables both professional and retail traders-alike to monitor a clean, aggregated view of retail stock sentiment. Over time, ClosingBell will provide additional datasets and collaborate with BDP in a long-term partnership.
