Buy Online Pickup In-Store Now Available for BigCommerce Stores

We’re thrilled to announce that Buy Online Pickup In-Store (BOPIS) is now available for BigCommerce stores! This feature is now out of beta and available to implement in most BigCommerce stores.

What is BOPIS?

A new feature of our multi-location inventory functionality is now available to use on BigCommerce stores using a custom storefront and custom checkout experience!

BOPIS (Buy Online Pickup In-Store — check out the documentation here!), also known as Click & Collect outside the United States, is now available via our APIs. This update enables merchants to have custom experiences around picking up items at their retail locations.

Why should I use it?

We’ve released 2 new APIs, including the Pickup Methods API and Inventory API, and updated a handful of existing APIs. This means that end-to-end Buy Online Pickup In-Store (BOPIS) customized experiences for both shoppers and merchants through our APIs are now possible for merchants to implement.

Effective BOPIS offerings often lead to increased sales, customer engagement, and customer retention by allowing retailers to blend their online and in-store shopping experiences, thereby offering a more convenient way to shop!

The number of locations a merchant is eligible to have will be based on their BigCommerce plan type, so be sure to check out those plan and pricing details here!
