What’s New for Merchants in April
Welcome to the monthly recap of BigCommerce product news and updates. Each month, we’re sharing all the changes and updates available to merchant’s stores on BigCommerce. Whether you’re an agency partner building and managing an e-commerce site, a freelance developer customizing the BigCommerce storefront, or an app developer wanting to keep on top of natively built features, this your chance to stay in the loop and learn what changes are happening to the BigCommerce platform.
At BigCommerce, April brought in extended transparency and clarity on site conversions. To ensure that our merchants are set up for success, we have updated our support of integrations as they’ve added functionality. See below for more details about the new payment provider beta opportunity, payment gateway, reporting tools, and our Facebook integration update.
BigCommerce Platform Updates, April 2021
- Beta Opportunity- Mollie Payment Gateway: In this beta, EU merchants can access multiple global and local European payment methods through a single account and offer shoppers trusted payment methods.
- Upgrade Facebook Pixel to use Conversions API: To support Facebook’s new Conversions API, we have made an important update to our Facebook Pixel integration. There are no engineering changes that need to be made, only settings that need to be changed. Be sure to advise your merchants about this to capture this data.
- Introducing Barclaycard Smartpay Fuse: Barclaycard Fuse is the newest payment gateway on the BigCommerce platform. For a full walkthrough on enabling this payment provider, you or the merchant can review Connecting with Barclaycard Smartpay Fuse in the Help Center.
- How Apple’s iOS 14 Might Impact Your Ads and Reporting: Conversion reporting may not be what your merchants expect if the time from Facebook to checkout exceeds Apple’s new cookie expiration time frame. See our product blog for more information on how you can prepare.
