What’s Trending in the Dev Community?

Welcome to a recap of what’s trending in the BigCommerce Developer Community. Every other week, we’ll take a look at the discussions happening in our dev spaces. You’ll see our most popular and insightful conversations, along with questions that could use your expertise or helpful advice.

In the BigCommerce Developer Community, we’re seeing conversations about setting up reviews with BigCommerce for WordPress, filtering category products by inventory level, and query parameter differences between S2S & Storefront APIs.

📣 Announcements

• WordPress V4.12.0 is now available! In this version you can find added support for fetching products by SKU via query and shortcode, new banners support via the Banners API & a new ‘Product Sync Log’ section to the Settings > Diagnostics panel in the WP Admin. Read more about this release in the Developer Changelog
• New Docs: We’ve added new accessibility articles discussing how Cornerstone meets WCAG Compliance Levels. You can review some examples to learn how Cornerstone implements WCAG guidelines.
• New API: The Product Sort Order API is now in open beta, and allows you to effectively manage the sort order of products displayed on any given category page. Get introduced to this new endpoint by checking out our new article in the Developer Blog.
• New API: The Customer’s Stored Instruments API is also now in open beta! This endpoint will list all available stored instruments for a customer, of all instrument types.
• API Update: Pagination meta for the Channel Listings endpoint has been corrected to no longer return a page number in the pagination response.

🗣 Can’t Miss Conversations

Some of our favorite, trending conversations from the BigCommerce Developer Community.

• Jorge A was looking to return cart line items with modifier options via S2S Cart API. This conversation is a great reminder to us all that the S2S and Storefront APIs have different syntax for query parameters. Check out the thread in the Developer Community.
• Jeffery Breden was trying to get product reviews to display on a custom template that they’re building. After a few plugin suggestions, Jeffery came up with his own custom solution! If you’re trying to do something similar, check out this thread in Github to see some options.

• Mike Hervas is looking to retrieve all category products filtered by inventory level.
