One of our goals at Big Neon is to re-imagine how ticketing works for artists, promoters and fans. At Big Neon, we’ve got the background, having led TicketWeb in its early days and also co-founding Ticketfly. In a way, Big Neon picks up where we left off.
We are excited to announce the launch of our native ticket transfer feature. Inside the Big Neon app, fans can now easily transfer tickets via text, email or QR code. This makes ticket transfers painless and instantaneous. A single fan can buy multiple tickets to an event and transfer them to her friends whenever she wants, even at the last minute.
Our new ticket transfer feature is great for promoters too. Upon transfer, the old QR code is retired and a new QR code is issued to the ticket buyer, largely eliminating ticket fraud. Without mobile first ticketing this type of security would not be possible.
Mobile first ticket transfers are even more exciting for promoters on the marketing front. Now with mobile first transfers, the promoter knows exactly who their event attendees are. In the past when a fan bought two tickets, the promoter would only know the buyer, not their friend. Now they know. And that extra person will download Big Neon to check in, increasing the chances that they will be a repeat patron. If you consider the average ticket purchaser buys 1.7 tickets per transaction, this new patron data could increase a promoter’s marketing database up to 70% per event.
