2 months ago, we unveiled Bigscreen Home, a modern-themed penthouse, in our massive Bigscreen TV update. Today, we’re excited to show you the Modern Cinema. This brand new environment is designed to look like your local movie theater, and is perfect for watching movies with your friends in VR.

Grab some popcorn and throw it around—if you make a mess, the popcorn kernels will automatically disappear!
We plan to add more interactive, physics-based toys in the future like soda cans and mini-games. What toys would you like to see?
Distraction Free Mode
Also in this update is “Distraction Free Mode” — 3D markers, popcorn, and various multiplayer sounds are disabled with this mode. This allows you to enjoy movies with friends without unwanted distractions!

The cinema is available right now in Bigscreen Beta. We are also hosting a grand opening ceremony on Friday August 23rd at 7PM Pacific. We’ll be hosting new TV channels and events in our new modern cinema.
