Just like Mother’s Day, Father’s Day weekend has quickly become a hugely important part of our culture. It’s a celebration of all the dad stereotypes that are deeply ingrained in the zeitgeist. Trekking through the great outdoors, grilling over an open fire, and shopping for the perfect necktie, to name a few. We polled our community to pick up on trends for the holiday, and as per usual, the results were fascinating. Let’s dive in.

In a multiple choice survey, 36% said fishing, 29% said golfing, 25% said going to a sporting event, 31% said having a cookout, 16% said working on a project, 21% said going to the beach, 21% said taking a trip, and 10% said going to a car show.

In sum, it looks like all of the stereotypes are true. The Father’s Day card is an essential, and so is a meal in some shape or form. As far as gifts go, watches and wallets are staples. And as far as experiences go, fishing trips and vacations are the true favorites. Whether you spend the day relaxing with your immediate family members, or you plan an extravagant family outing, only one element is truly essential: showing the dad in your life some love!
