With Backpackers turning into Flashpackers, staying in classy hostels, pampering yourself with comfort food once every now and then, moving around your own people, backpacking has turned into just another way of traveling.

My bike while I toured through Southern Thailand in 2017

Whereas Bikepacking is much more than a just way of travelling. It is about going deeper, connecting with locals, living with them and being one of them, living their life, and exploring the unexplored side of world, people and yourself. It is a way of life where you put yourself on test every time you start your ride.

Bikepacking doesn’t teach you independence — it hones your independence and makes you more self-sufficient. It teaches you to survive in an occasionally tough, but always alien environment. And once you’ve figured out how to survive in this strange world, then you can embrace its difference, marveling at its richness and its unceasing variety. The bikepacker knows that the only way to find out about the world is to explore it.

Just a random thought that came through me.
