Particularly the communication technologies are driving societal development and as new technologies emerge, we almost automatically strive to follow what is going on in order to join the new kinds of conversation and interaction that follow the technologies. But we also need to think critically about how we connect with others, what kind of influence new technologies have on our lives, and what new technologies do to our freedoms and wellbeing. Not least as we, the humans, are becoming the products in the market where data is the new oil.
Which takes us to the business world where people constantly aim to increase032021 material growth, efficiency and productivity in order to create more stuff faster and generate money in the market. What does that do to us as humans?
On the one hand, technological and market development push us to expand our interaction with the world and thus our bildung; on the other hand, they tend to limit our scope in many instances, and thus deprive us of bildung.
