Our favorite free design tools

We put together a list of free resources which we have found over the course of months while designing Billeasy (you can sign up for the beta here). All of the tools listed are free and have proven to be of great value to us.

Grabient

This is one of the best free tools that is available as of now. Grabient lists a number of gradients which you can simply put into your website or even into Sketch. They have also given packs which is available for both Sketch and Photoshop.

Unsplash

Community driven platforms like Medium and Unsplash is on the rise now. These platforms have helped writers and photographers build a presence in their respective communities. Unsplash provides over 200,000 stock free photos which you can use in any which way you want.

Typewolf

Typewolf is the absolute best resource available for everything related to typography on the web. Typewolf will always remain an independent site that features typefaces from all type foundries regardless of where the fonts can be purchased. Typewolf shows how fonts look on real websites, blog posts etc. Typewolf suggests fonts that go along with the one that you have selected.

IconStore

Get free icons made by some of the top designers for free through IconStore. You can get all of the icons in PNG or SVG formats. The variation of free icons that IconStore gives, from Harry Potter to Star Wars, is unreal.

Type Anything

Type Anything is a creative tool for testing and creating the perfect typography setup for your site. An easy and fast way to test the perfect font combinations for your next project.

Coolers

Coolers is super fast color schemes generator for cool designers. Coolers gives you color schemes which you can select and simply copy paste into your product.

Pixabay

Pixabay lets you download royalty free stock photos and videos and share your own pictures as public domain with people all over the world. All contents are released under Creative Commons CC0, which makes them safe to use without asking for permission or giving credit to the artist — even for commercial purposes.

Modular Scale

Modular Scale is a interesting project. It makes different ratios of the sizes of the typeface you have selected. You can select how the ratios are selected, from Fibonacci numbers to the Golden Ratio, various ratios are available.

Color Claim

Color claim is a page full of favorite color combinations of Van Schneider. Van Schneider is the founder of Semplice and ex Lead Designer at Spotify.
There are 102 color combinations that you can easily integrate into your product.
