Hello, Pittsburgh!

Here’s your first look at designer Paul Compton’s vision for The Incline, Spirited Media’s mobile-first news site aiming for an end-of-summer launch in Pittsburgh.

He went for an aspirational, modern and progressive look and leaned on a color inspired by “tangerine tango,” Pantone’s 2012 color of the year.

Compton also designed logos for The Incline’s parent company and its first news site, Billy Penn in Philadelphia. Spirited Media’s founder and CEO, Jim Brady, worked with Compton at the Washington Post.

Not only do we have a new look, we also have a home.

The Incline will be based in Pittsburgh’s largest coworking space, Alloy 26, which is located in Nova Place in Allegheny Center. We apologize in advance to our neighbors. We’re loud and sometimes foul-mouthed but frequently fun and usually on the prowl for food.

And by “we,” we’re talking about the editorial and sales team we’re in the process of assembling, of course.

The Incline’s editor Lexi Belculfine (lexi@theincline.com or @LexiBelc) will be there Monday. Come say hi. In the meantime, get at us:
