In your words, what is Deaux?
Deaux allows anyone in the world to spin up a prediction market for their own target audience. The platform provides all the frontend and backend technology for launching the application, so each market creator can focus on reaching their end users. By combining off-chain order matching with on-chain settlement and custodianship, apps built on Deaux feature responsive UI without sacrificing decentralization.
Tell us about your founders. What is their story?
Deaux was founded by Jeff Yan and Brian Wong.
Jeff and Brian worked together for many years during and after college. Both believe in the power of markets in shaping how everyday people interact with uncertain events in the world.
What makes your project unique?
Team members at Deaux have extensive experience in trading, understanding how to make a platform that is both performant and user friendly.
What are your major achievements and status updates?
During the incubator, we launched a public beta on the main network, with dozens of unique individuals trading with real money.
Now, we are focused on open sourcing the project code so that others can build on top of it. To this end, we are working with the folks at Long Bets to migrate their current prediction platform to a more user friendly one to reach a larger audience. Stay tuned for updates on this.
What are your plans for the first half of 2019?
Continue improving platform in preparation for wider release. Focus on the collaboration with Long Bets to see if the “institutional client” business model is viable.
How was the Binance Labs Incubation Program?
The Binance Labs Incubation Program was awesome! The mentors were really experienced and helpful, and it was so inspiring to work alongside other teams building incredible projects.
