How To Secure Your Fortnite Account With 2 Factor Authentication

Forcing users to add another step while logging in can lead to a loss of active users. Nobody wants to be forced to do anything. Here is how you can easily enable 2-factor authentication on Fortnite and get free Boogiedown Emote in the process:
- Go to http://epicgames.com/2FA and login to your Epic Games account.
- In your Account Settings, go to PASSWORD & SECURITY tab.
3. Scroll down to TWO-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION section and click on ENABLE AUTHENTICATOR APP button.
You can alternatively Enable Email Authentication. But in case you use 2FA for multiple accounts, an authenticator app makes it easier to manage.
4. It’s time to switch to the phone now. Download the TOTP Authenticator from the Apple App Store or Play Store.
Any service supported by Google Authenticator, Duo Mobile or Authy can be used with TOTP Authenticator. TOTP Authenticator provides a modern user interface and an offline backup feature compared to other authentication apps.
5. Open the TOTP Authenticator app and scan the QR code visible on the screen. Alternatively, you can enter the code and account details manually.
6. Once the above step is done, the account will be added to the list on the main screen. Each code is valid for 30 seconds, after which new code is generated.
7. Enter the passcode generated by the app into the field on the screen. Click ACTIVATE.
8. Congrats! You’ve successfully enabled 2-factor authentication. Click on Finish to complete the process. Happy browsing!
Optional: Epic Games also gives you the option to generate and backup emergency codes, in case you lose access to your phone or the authentication app. You can copy these codes, and save them somewhere safe.
