We’re extremely excited, as last week Biotron won the EIT InnoEnergy Start-up of the Year award in Slovakia. What does that mean for us?

InnoEnergy is the innovation engine for sustainable energy across Europe supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology. The institution is looking for start-ups that are commercially viable, endlessly innovative, and highly competitive. They have already invested 275.5 million euros into more than 480 assets, which have forecasted sales amounting to 5.3 billion euros. In addition, 1,100 alumni have graduated from its Master’s and PhD School programmes, many of whom work for prestigious companies such as Tesla, Siemens, Total and Procter & Gamble.

Apart from tons of media coverage we will have a chance to compete against 13 other start-ups in the European grand finals of the PowerUp! 2020 challenge. It is also a great opportunity to find clients and partners from the energy industry.

The grand finals will be held in June and we will post more information as soon as it will be available.

I would like to thank the teams at EIT InnoEnergy, Civitta Slovakia (who organised the national round of PowerUp!), mentors, who helped us during the bootcamp, as well as our clients and partners, and of course you — our supporters who have been with us since the very beginning and without whom this wouldn’t be possible.

If you have any questions you’re more than welcome to ask any questions you might have on Facebook, LinkedIn, or Twitter.

Best regards,

Pavol

CEO of Biotron
