Outlook for craft beer and CSF in Australia

Despite Australian beer consumption being at a 65-year low, the variety and experimental style of craft beer is becoming increasingly popular. There are now over 600 Australian Breweries, up from 19 in the 1980s.

According to a Deloitte report, craft beer consumption is increasing at approximately 10% every year. A symbol of this increasing popularity in craft beer is GABS’ annual Craft Beer Hottest 100. A take on Triple J’s Hottest 100, GABS collects votes from Australian beer drinkers on their favourite beverage, revealing Australia’s favourite 100 craft beers.

2021 saw a significant rise in the number of successful craft beer offers in the CSF industry. Approximately $9.25 million was raised across 8 craft beer offers. Since 2018, there have been 12 successful beer-related offers under the CSF regime.
