As a high schooler out of Millville, New Jersey, Buddy Kennedy heard his name called in the 5th round of the 2017 Major League Baseball Draft. Signing with the Diamondbacks, Kennedy spent 2017 with the AZL D-backs in preparation for the 2018 in Missoula with the Osprey.

Kennedy has been able to call many people mentors, but one in particular has helped pave the way for the infielder: Los Angeles Angles superstar Mike Trout.
