Manual releases aren’t exactly a breeze, but it’s an important thing to know how to do when Charging Birds. When the app doesn’t allow you to Release Birds, you can attempt a Manual Release in order to get the Payouts attached to the Birds by messaging into the in-app HELP feature and attaching a couple of files.

The Manual Release is composed of four components. Because our agents are not physically there, we need these items in order to verify that your Birds are where they’re supposed to be. Think of this like a court case and you’re a lawyer presenting your evidence:

1. A quick explanation of the issue + screenshot of any error that is stopping you from releasing your Birds (we want to fix it!)

2. A screenshot of Release Birds page with your location (like this: https://goo.gl/j279Sd)

3. Bird IDs that need to be released (photos or from My Birds list)

4. A photo of the same Birds in the Nest where you left them

The Quick Explanation/Screenshot: We need to know what is preventing you from releasing the Birds properly through the app. In most cases, a dialogue bubble will pop up after an unsuccessful Release scan. Screenshot the problem error message and send that into us. If there’s no dialogue bubble, try to explain to us as best as you can why you could not release through the app.

Release Birds screenshot: This screenshot tells us where you were at the time of the release and which Nest you reserved. In order to be granted a Manual Release, you must have a Nest reserved and we will not release your Birds because there were no Nests available at the time. If there are no Nests available, you might want to consider asking an agent to snooze or cancel your Birds.

Bird IDs: Bird IDs are the easiest way for agents and Chargers to distinguish which Bird they are dealing with. Sending us a screenshot of your Task List or simply typing out the Bird IDs in your message to us will greatly help us determine which Birds to release and which Payouts are yours. If we can’t identify the Birds, we can’t credit you for them. Birds that are going through manual release must be in your task list in order for them to get credited.

Nest Photo: Taking a photo of your Nest will allow support agents to do two things: it’ll confirm that your Birds are in the Nest that you laid out in your Release Birds screenshot and it’ll also help agents analyze how nicely your Birds look to our Riders.

Manual releases help you guarantee that you get the credit you deserve.
