Fellows from the United States, Canada, Mexico and Israel will immerse in business, tech and entrepreneurship ecosystem in Tel Aviv this summer.

Birthright Israel Excel is proud to announce it has selected 108 outstanding Jewish students and soldiers from North America and Israel to join the ninth cohort of the Birthright Israel Excel Fellowship. The Excel Fellowship is a lifelong community of Jewish business leaders that invests in the advancement of Israel and the Jewish world. The Fellowship begins with a 10-week intensive professional experience in Tel Aviv.

The 54 Fellows from North America represent 26 universities, including University of Pennsylvania, Stanford University, Cornell University, Duke University, Queen’s University, Washington University in St. Louis, Brown University, Columbia University, New York University and Vanderbilt University. They study 51 unique majors and minors, including disciplines in business, humanities, engineering, government, natural science, social science and foreign languages. Each Fellow is involved in many leadership activities on campus and in their broader communities.

The 54 Fellows from Israel represent 26 Army, Navy and Air Force Units, including 8200 and 9900 — Israeli Intelligence Corps, and colleges and universities including IDC Herzliya, Tel Aviv University and Hebrew University.

“The Fellowship uniquely identifies emerging Jewish leaders who are empowered to be at the forefronts of their careers and communities for years to come,” said Idit Rubin, Executive Director of Birthright Israel Excel. “Throughout the 10-week summer program, Excel Fellows gain the skills and connections within the Israeli Startup Nation ecosystem that enable them to become changemakers as they enter the workforce. They learn the values of giving back and working together to ultimately strengthen the ties between North America and Israel.”

Currently in its ninth year, Excel is guided by principles of excellence and integrity. The Fellows will participate full-time in Excel Business internships or the Excel Ventures startup pre-accelerator.

“We invest in the Fellows during the 10-week summer program, so that they may become active members of the Birthright Israel Excel community, currently comprised of 675 previous Fellows and hundreds of mentors and advisers. Excel provides ongoing opportunities and resources that amplify engagement in professional development, innovation, philanthropy, and social, Jewish and Israel-oriented activities,” said Rubin.
