Knowing that bitcoin holders secure their wealth using our product, and plan to for generations — is a responsibility we consider sacrosanct. It was time for our brand to evolve and showcase this responsibility.
From Hexa to Keeper
Keeper wasn’t our first step into bitcoin. Back in 2018, we launched Hexa Wallet, a project that taught us a lot about what bitcoin users need, and what they don’t. Hexa was a bold experiment, but it came with some non-standard choices that didn’t always scale the way we had hoped. By 2023, we decided it was time for a fresh start, and thus Bitcoin Keeper was born.
The name “Keeper” came from a simple idea: A reliable app that would help you safekeep your wealth in the digital age. Whether you’re holding $50 or $1 million+ of bitcoin, Keeper is commited to meet you where you are in the journey. It’s about giving you control and helping manage your bitcoin the right way, your way. You can back up and export your keys, even move to other wallets. Bitcoin Keeper aims to earn your trust, not trap you in.
Why Rebrand? A Clearer Purpose
Bitcoin is becoming the go-to store of value for a growing number of people. And Keeper is a tool for long-term wealth preservation, using bitcoin. Our old branding didn’t fully capture that. We wanted Bitcoin Keeper to feel like a protector. Think of a knight in armor, vigilant and ready to defend your wealth. But not in a stuffy, over-the-top way. We aimed for something approachable yet sophisticated, like a guide you can rely on without feeling overwhelmed. We also wanted to show our low-time preference approach to building a product people will love for years.
We brainstormed visual metaphors around “keeping”, like a vault, a shield and keys, and we landed on something clean and timeless. It’s practical and modern with a spark of tradition.
Looking Ahead
This rebrand isn’t just a new flashy logo or a catchy tagline. It’s a promise: Keeper is here to safeguard your bitcoin with a focus on privacy, flexibility, and simplicity. We’re not chasing shortcuts or trying to be everything for everyone. Instead, we’re building for serious bitcoin holders who want security without the hassle, and for newcomers ready to skip third parties.
