What?
BitTorrent, the world’s largest decentralised file sharing protocol, recently announced its airdrop schedule for TRX (Tron) holders, and we are happy to inform you that Bitbns fully supports it.
However, TRX holders will exclusively be the ones to benefit from this opportunity. But you need not worry; if you are a TRX holder before the airdrop is initiated, you are in.
So if you haven’t got TRX in your Bitbns wallet yet, go for it before the BTT airdrop begins.
BitTorrent will initiate its first airdrop to TRX holders on 11 February 2019, which is when the block height of TRX will reach 6.6 million. All official wallets carrying TRX before 11 February 00:00 UTC will be eligible for the airdrop.
Remember — 11 February, 2019 — that’s the date before which you will need to have TRX tokens in your wallet in order to be eligible for the airdrop.
How?
BitTorrent Foundation will take a snapshot of the TRX ledger before initiating the airdrop on 11 February 2019. Anyone holding TRX in their wallet before the aforementioned deadline is eligible to receive their free BTT tokens. If you already hold TRX in your wallet, sit back and relax!
When?
As per the official post, the airdrops will take place in phases spread through upcoming years. Here is the official timeline for the BTT airdrops:
- On 11th February, 2019: 10,890,000,000 BTT
- 11th March, 2019–11th February, 2020: 990,000,000 BTT per month
- 11th March, 2020–11th February, 2021: 1,072,500,000 BTT per month
- 11th March, 2021–11th February, 2022: 1,155,000,000 BTT per month
- 11th March, 2022–11th February, 2023: 1,237,500,000 BTT per month
- 11th March, 2023–11th February, 2024: 1,320,000,000 BTT per month
- 11th March, 2024–11th February, 2025: 1,402,500,000 BTT per month
Each airdrop will be initiated on the 11th day of each month at 0:00 UTC.
Claiming your BTT on Bitbns
All you have to do is hold TRX in your Bitbns wallet before the airdrop begins. As hinted in the official Medium post, the amount of TRX to be airdropped in a TRX holder’s wallet would be determined as per a specific ratio. As per the medium post by BitTorrent “The ratio of BTT airdrop on Feb 11 is approximately 1 TRX = 0.11 BTT, due to the uncertainty of TRX block rewards and coin burn, the final ratio may be different, the following airdrop ratio will be announced later.”
