Hello there!

Welcome to bitbybit. We hope this platform is for you to learn new and interesting stuff together with us.

Why did we start bitbybit?

I’ve been wanting to write a blog where I can experiment with things I find interesting, and bitbybit is a passion project with my two fellas — Aman Middha and Dorothy SUEN. Three of us came from different backgrounds, both ethnically and culturally. Despite attending the same university, we studied completely different things and went our separate ways professionally. A little intro and message from the team:

Dazi:

Hello hello hello~ Very excited to work on this project! I’m a nerd currently residing in Hong Kong trying to pursue her dream to be an entrepreneur. With this blog, I hope to bring you guys to the world of the seemingly unconnected. Art and tech, fun and work, the traditional and the innovative, yourself and success.

Personally, my goal with this blog is to expand my mind even more. Over time, I found that the thing that stops us from doing bolder things is our mindset. Not our parents, our managers, or the “universe”. It’s our own brain. Let’s stop doing that and explore even more. Hopefully you guys join the 3 of us in this exciting journey.

Aman:

hello, world.

I am a data and travel enthusiast who wants to merge these together and drop a bomb. Figuratively, obviously. I prefer being the dumbest person in the room so I can absorb to the best of my capacity. There is no way to control the amount of new things I come across every day from watching a TED talk, reading a book, talking to someone, coming across interesting code recipes, Donald Trump’s twitter among many things. For me, this platform is a way to share that knowledge in a more structured way.

Other than that, I am a philosopher, expert conversationalist and weirdo when I want to.

Dorothy:

A pretty weirdo with Typo Disorder. Sharing passion in digital marketing and fashion. Aspiring to become a level 400 weirdo that knows and talks business, leadership, science, arts and jewels.

dorothy = [dancer, foodie, marketer]

def learn_with_dor :

share_with_us = input (‘share what you know about with us’)

return dorothy += share_with_us

learn_with_dor()

The idea of bitbybit is to have a platform to show our process of learning and exploration in our own worlds. Often, we are given the perception that successful people have a God-given genius brain. NO. They also, like us, start from somewhere. Every learning process contains both failures and confusion (learnt that the hard way in my last job). Everybody learns in different ways and everybody is gravitated towards different ideas.

Why should I care about this blog?

You’re not obligated. This is a place for the curious bunch.

Essentially, bitbybit is our platform to not look impressive. It’s our exploration space. It’s an empty whiteboard we hope to draw, wipe and re-draw. Some things will look messy and experimental, as we would like it to be.

If it’s gonna be messy, then I won’t be able to follow your material.

We will still follow a structure. In every blog, we hope to explore:

  • why these ideas/projects are important
  • how other people are exploring those ideas/ projects
  • how we explore and think of these ideas/ projects
  • so what? what now?

What will bitbybit explore?

Our project articles will be a mix of ideas we’re curious about, books, maker projects, and mini data science projects. We’ll explore how people think of ideas and process ideas. We’re still figuring things out along the way, but we hope you would come and join us in this exciting journey. Our frequency will be one blog/ week.

With us, let’s learn bit by bit.

Cheers,

the bitbybit team
