Last week, we released a Demo created by Head of Blockchain Mark Shwartzman that shows off BASE Vault and Desearch. Through Vault, users grant specific companies access to particular pieces of encrypted data and are compensated as a result. Mark shows how, if approved to share, this data can be used in an integration between BASE and BitClave’s crypto-focused search engine Desearch to receive offers from companies.
Below, we want to take you through a few questions to get to know BASE better. We’ll also be releasing a partner post that will talk about the other recent key announcement, the BitClave Developer Partnership Program and Contest, and the sorts of applications you can build on it, soon, so stay tuned!

How can BASE be used?

BASE is the BitClave Active Search Ecosystem, which, as a decentralized search ecosystem deploying blockchain technology, makes it easier to store, share, and monetize data. BASE creates a more transparent and meaningful way for people and businesses to engage in value creation than current ways of finding value online that exploit users, who don’t have control of their data. Users can selectively disclose aspects of their online identity, which companies on the platform can gain access to after providing compensation. BitClave’s multi-tenant, multi-application BASE platform was designed to empower users with the right to decide with whom they share data, and to receive compensation.

What new features does BASE include?

BitClave’s platform BASE provides users enhanced privacy guarantees, backed by the decentralized nature of blockchain with its distributed ledger technology. The BASE’s digital persona repository is a centralized data storage, with each record kept encrypted with the private key only the user owns, thus preventing BASE from sharing user’s data in human or machine readable format on its own accord.

Who made BASE?

BASE is the ecosystem built by the BitClave team, to be integrated with BitClave’s other products, Desearch and MatchICO. BitClave is a blockchain startup, headquartered in San Jose, California. Our team consists of seasoned product, engineering, and business professionals.

Is this decentralized?

BASE uses blockchain hashes to protect information and verify company’s access to particular parts of user data. This way, the user has total control over what aspects of their only identity they discloses, and companies are not defrauded into false ad clicks. The smart contract that governs access to a user’s data runs on blockchain and requires network consensus to be modified.

Can I try BASE?

We’re working on BASE internally for now, but you can try out our search engine Desearch, which is a great resource for crypto news and research. As demonstrated in the Demo from the blockchain team at BitClave, BASE will integrate with Desearch to offer compensation to users in the future. You can also sign up to receive the latest news about BitClave and our products, including BASE, Desearch, and MatchICO. If you are a developer, check out our Developer Program to see if you have a project you can bring to life with BASE.
