Still going strong with 9 hour long conference days followed by post-conference meetups and after-parties. Had to get up early, because today was another very interesting day on the #devcon programme. I’d like to focus a little bit on the two most interesting talks of today; Joe Lubin & Hayden Adams.

ConsenSys is one of the largest — if not the largest — player in the Ethereum ecosystem and have provided a strong foundation for many of components, services and businesses that are thriving today on the back of the Ethereum protocol. I attended his keynote in Prague for #devcon4 last year and obviously had to again this year. With an observation (I haven’t done the numbers myself to back it up) of more than 30 million developers worldwide and just a fraction of those within blockchain — mr. Lubin argued for increased focus in helping developers getting introduced to web3 and everything that it brings. To do so, he announced OneMillionDevs and an ambitious goal of reaching it before next devcon. I can’t help think how great it is to see such hard work being put into a cause that truly benefits the entire ecosystem — beyond Ethereum.

I always sit at the front — if possible — as it is like in sports: that’s where you get the best experience

Today’s surprise and most uplifting talk was that of Hayden Adams. Much wow, many token, very gains! I had the talk booked because I’ve used Uniswap a couple of times and I find the dApp smooth, user-friendly and valueadding. But I had not expected a talk that opened up so many use-cases and opportunities. I’ll give an example: Deposit ether to open a CDP and mint DAI. Use the DAI in Compound.finance to create cDAI and earn interest on your deposit. Fill the Uniswap liquidity pool up with cDAI and earn dex-fees on top of that. All this can be bundled into a smart contract executing each step to improve the UX.

Smallest stage at devcon for Hayden Adams for some weird reason, but the attendance shows that they should move him up next year
