Fat Loss Starts With Mindless, Sneaky Calories

There are split second decisions, each day that are wrecking your plans to slim down a little as you get a bit older.

Take me as an example — I was eating 200 plus extra calories daily without even registering it.

  • A bit of cheese while I was chopping cheese for lunch (one bit for the sandwich, one bit for my mouth).
  • A big chunk of chicken while serving the chicken for the dinner (just to check it tasted okay...);
  • I grabbed a wee biscuit while rummaging in the cupboard for dinner ingredients.

Boom, that’s at least 200 calories — and this is where most folks go wrong, as I find when I first start working with a new coaching client.

You think that you’re eating pretty well but then you can’t figure out why the weight doesn’t seem to be coming off.

It’s these mindless calories, so small individually that you don’t even think that they matter.

But doing that every day for a week is an extra 1400 calories. Nearly half a pound of body fat.

Try and start catching yourself ‘in the act’. Be a bit more mindful when you’re around food.

It’s those wee moments that are the difference between you getting somewhere and finally losing weight, and staying stuck.
