On January 7th we successfully completed a scheduled infrastructure upgrade to provide our customers with the industry-leading level of sophistication that they have come to expect from Bitfinex.

As a result of carefully taking into consideration fantastic feedback from our users, an array of novel and exciting features were added to our suite of reporting tools alongside this upgrade — a selection of which are outlined in greater detail throughout this post.

If you have additional feedback for how we can continue to improve our reporting tools, please reach out to ezequiel.wernicke@bitfinex.com.

Position History

This new section allows users to comprehensively evaluate their individual position history, including the status, amount, positive/negative values, alongside funding types and amounts used for each position. On top of this, users also get information pertaining to profit & loss percentages, liquidation price, leverage and more.

Position Audit

As each position is composed of several sub-positions, we’ve created the Position Audit section to provide our users with a full-fledged overview of their positions.

When using the Position Audit section, users must add the ids of the positions which they wish to evaluate. Alternatively users can click on the position id in the Position History section, as outlined below.

Wallet History (Beta)

This week’s update also came with a new feature — Wallet History. The Wallet History feature allows users to view snapshots of their wallets across certain moments, selecting dates from the calendar tool as displayed below.

Public Tickers

At Bitfinex we consider public data a fundamental component of an effective trading strategy. In line with this, we are happy to be able to display Public Tickers, as to let users evaluate the bids and asks of different pairs across a selected time-frame.

General Improvements

In addition to the updates above we have also added a number of general improvements

1. Support for multi-currency filter

Users can now effectively filter performance across multiple currencies or pairs.

2. Support for pre-selected pairs/symbols via url

We have added the option to filter currencies/pairs via URL, saving our users time when organising trades.

3. Enhanced order information

Following user requests, more information has been added to the orders section to let users know when orders have been created. This comes in extremely useful when analysing past strategies.

Future Plans

Below are a number of the plans for the reporting tool in 2019:

  • Open-sourcing of the underlying code
  • Funding earnings sector
  • New site for downloading public data fast
  • Framework for advanced reporting: portfolio performance, PNL statements, risk management and tax management
  • Improved sorting and filtering in tables
  • Framework for sharing of data between users
  • Mobile app integration

Whilst we clearly have many plans for our reporting tools scheduled, what matters most to us is developing to the needs of our users. Please do continue to reach out to us if you have suggestions for how we can improve!
