The world is moving towards an increasingly digital economy — from transactions between businesses and individuals to completely cashless experiences like rideshare apps. Yet at the very same time, across every continent we are observing terrible refugee crisis resulting in large number of people who are left with no access to the knowledge or the financial infrastructure needed for them to benefit from these conveniences.

To address that knowledge gap and prepare refugees for the blockchain enabled future, Hello Future and bitfwd collaborated on a curriculum for refugee students to learn about cryptocurrency and get them closer to opportunities in this global economy. The goal is to plant early seeds and assist in connecting refugee teens the web 3.0 movement. These students will be better positioned to access this technology and understand how it can set them up for career opportunities.

When refugee teens learn from a curriculum that addresses their digital academic skills alongside their social and emotional skills, they learn how to apply these skills in the current economy, these teens can re-imagine what their futures can look like. This is directly seen in Hello Future’s 2019 Impact Report.
