Current Mainnet Status

Bithereum has made tremendous progress since the launch on January 5th. It has been a tough few weeks with the various issues we had, but as promised, we have worked tirelessly to get everything up and running. Thus far, we have already had as much as 33 full nodes running and rewards haven’t even begun yet. The network’s mining hash rate has also increased week-by-week, and more people continue to enter the fray. At peak hashrate, Bithereum was the second highest out of all other Equihash <144,5> coins, within the first day of its launch alone. As per the movement of BTH coins, there has been over 100k total transactions already on the network, with as high as 200 transactions in a day, which we would say has exceeded our expectations.

Furthermore, in our first month of being launched, we have been able to get listed on multiple exchanges, one being a top exchange worldwide, along with four different wallets that cover every type of device.

We just wanted to update our community about everything that is currently available in the Bithereum ecosystem, as well as what will be coming moving forward. But for now, everyone can look forward to what Bithereum already has thus far!

Site

We have made several significant updates to Bithereum’s website; all resources pertaining to the BTH ecosystem can now be found here: https://bithereum.network/#!/resources.

New Explorer

We have completed building a brand-new Insight explorer for Bithereum that is fast-performing and completely up to date; it can be found here:

Moving Forward

Though we are officially on mainnet and have accomplished the biggest milestone of all, we have many more things to look forward to in the coming months for Bithereum and our community. In the coming days, we will fully transition to Phase 1 of Bithereum’s development, which will be centered around full node rewards and incentivizations around this to grow the network significantly. Essentially, everyone running a full node will be able to earn BTH, through a new initiative, called Proof-of-Uptime (PoU). The amount each full node will be awarded with will be based on their node’s uptime; the higher amount of uptime a node has, the higher their reward payout will be, however even a miniscule amount of uptime will generate at least some reward. We will release further details in the coming weeks.

After PoU is fully up and running, we will work on starting the distribution of BTH for ETH holder redemption and those that participated in the bounty. It is hard to give timeline at the moment, but we will be able to do so once full node rewards are up as it is next on our to-do list. At the latest, it would be before the end of Q1.

Once all of the above is taken care of, we will move on to Phase 2 of Bithereum, which will be centered around working with merchants/retailers around the world to accept BTH as payments and we will also work to have BTHpay (our own version of bitpay) as well. We will focus on various different regions globally and work to get partnerships in order to facilitate the adoption of BTH as a p2p currency. As this is happening, we will also begin working on a shift to Proof-of-Stake, as this is the ultimate vision for Bithereum’s consensus.

All in all, there are plenty of exciting developments on the way; stay tuned for everything that’s coming to the Bithereum ecosystem!
